Amotekun operatives arrest serial burglar in Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a young man Akeem Afeez, for burglary and theft.

The 25 year old Afeez who hails from Ede, Osun State was arrested at a company located in Oogi town, Ayedaade local government area of the state.

The 25 years old, from Ede, Osun State was nabbed for burgling and stealing at a company at Oogi Town in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.

Confirming the arrest in a statement in Osogbo, the Osun Amotekun Commander, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi stated that the suspect was arrested after a complaint was lodged at Irewole Area Command.

Adewinmbi also said the Amotekun operatives swung into action and were able to apprehend him on the spot.

“The suspect was arrested at Oogi where he burgled and stole from Afripower Company Nig. Ltd., Oogi Town in Ayedaade LG of Osun State.

“An earlier complaint had been lodged at the Irewole Area Command of Osun Amotekun on the nefarious activities of the suspect, and the operatives had been on the lookout.

“Upon getting a signal on this recent activity, the operatives swung into action and were able to apprehend the culprit.

“In the course of the interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the act, saying it was not his first time of burgling and that he normally sells such items.

“The items found on him are an electric motor, a vibrator, 1 pumping machine, long-length cable wire, and 13 pieces of tap cap,” Adewinmbi said.

The suspect has been handed over to the Nigeria Police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
