Coronavirus, Five Cases Confirmed In Nigeria – Minister of Health

Corona Virus 5 cases confirmed

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed five new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in in the country.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire confirmed the cases during a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.


Ehanire explained that three of the victims returned from the United States of America including a mother and child, while two others also from the United Kingdom.

Four cases and one were recorded in Lagos and Ekiti States respectively.

To further reduce the spread of the virus, some countries had to place a necessary ban on travelling in and out of their countries.


Also, the Nigeria Federal Government has also placed a ban on public officials travelling to other countries until further notice. This was announced through the FG’s Secretary.

However, citizens are advised to further take security measures serious and attempt to disinfect any item to be used as the coronavirus can survive up to four hours on copper, up to three days on plastic, stainless steel and a day on cardboard, according to research published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
