The Colorado congresswoman was reportedly combative with staff, and threatened to contact Denver’s mayor in retaliation

Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert was kicked out of a Denver performance of the musical Beetlejuice on Sunday after reportedly vaping, causing a disturbance, and using her phone in ways that elicited multiple complaints from audience members. Now, surveillance footage and an incident report obtained by 9News Denver reveal that Boebert was combative with staff at the Buell Theater, and even threatened to call the city’s mayor.

According to the report, which does not name Boebert, after receiving multiple complaints staff determined that they would remove two people from the theater, and contacted the Denver Police Department.

When asked to leave, Boebert and her companion resisted. “I told them I would [sic] going to get Denver Police. They said go get them,” the report reads. When the usher radioed for police support, the pair voluntarily left. Surveillance footage shows Boebert and her guest being escorted out of the performance call and theater.

Despite agreeing to leave the premises, the pair reportedly continued to argue with staff, saying things like “do you know who I am,” “I am on the board,” and “I will be contacting the mayor.”

Boebert’s identity was later confirmed by two sources who spoke to 9News. The congresswoman herself also acknowledged she had been at the theater in a post on X (formerly Twitter) and “plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!”

“Everyone should go see [Beetlejuice] if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends!” Boebert added.
